the estates and the gardens to the packing in the factories, you

hill resort of Munnar. You may even pick up freshly packed tealeaves
as souvenirs from the factory itself.
Another must-see at Munnar is the Christ church. It was built
even before the independence and is a major landmark of Munnar.
You can also visit the High range Club. It is an old club built
during the time of raj and still retains its old colonial style.
The club has a gentleman's bar, library and other rooms besides
a 9-hole golf course and the river around the course is good for
fishing, though one has to seek permission before heading to a
store to buy bait.

About 15kms from Munnar is the Eravikulam National Park. It has
elephants, mountain goats, tigers and gaurs besides many other
animals. You can also take a tour to Mattupetty, which is 13 kms
from Munnar and at an attitude of 1,700 meters. It is popular
because of the indo-swiss livestock project (a special dairy farm).
The lake Mattupetty is just a little far away from the farm and
also worth a closer look.
