perfect example of 'Unity In Diversity' Ajmer-E-Sharief attracts
devotees of different cummunity and society. Famous for the wish
fulfilment, the shrine is next only to Mecca or Medina and believed
that seven time visit to the shrine is equivalent to one time visit
to Mecca Medina.
Ajmer-E-Sharif
also known as Dargah Sharief is the place where the Muslim saint
Khajwa Moinudin Chishti lie in eternal piece and draws adherents
from all parts of the world. Located at the foot of a Barren hill
in Ajmer, the shrine was built by
Humayun with
a huge gateway to the Dargah carved in silver, which was built by
the Nizam of Hyderabad.One of the attractive and famous sanctums present
in the inner court of the Dargah is the magnificent mosque built by
Shahjahan in white marble beautified with delicate carvings and tellis
work.

Urs Festival
Apart
from the famous shrine, Ajmer-E-Sharief is also known for the famous
Urs festival, organised to mark the death anniversary of Chisti.
The festival attracts a large number of devotees across the world
from all walks of life.
Qawwali programs, especially the Sufiana Kalam'
sung by the artists are the major interesting events, organised
to mark this annual 'Urs' festival, making a spellbinding effect
on the listeners.
»Arhai-din-ka-Jhonpra
Originally
a sanskrit college built in 12th century AD, this monument is now
actually a mosque rebuilt in 1198 AD by Mohammed Ghori, who replaced
it with the mosque. Situated on the outskirts of Ajmer, the Arhai-din-ka-Jhonpra
mosque once known for the seven arched walls with Islamic calligraphy,
though in ruins now is one interesting site to visit.

Fort
Built
by Ajaypal Chauhan in 1100 AD on a hilltop, Taragarh Fort is also
known as Star Fort that gives birds eye view of the Ajmer city.
From the historical point of view this is the first fort in India
that has been constructed on the hill.

Jain Temple
Located
on the Prithvi Raj Road of Ajmer city, the temple is devoted to
the first Jain Tirthankar Rishabhdeoji. The first floor of the temple
is called the 'Swarna Nagri' (city of gold) that represents the
Jain concept of the Universe and gold plated replicas of Jain Temples
in India.
